I’m trying to psych myself up.. for a  photo shoot tomorrow.

It’s for a great cause… The American Heart Associations.. Go Red For Women Campaign.  We’re raising awareness about Heart Disease… the number one killer for American Women.

BUT… I’m doing a Cover Shoot with all of the other Main Female Anchors in town.

They’re all very nice… but two of them are about twice as tall as I am!  I think if you put me on Carol Williams shoulders.. we MIGHT be as tall as Trisha or Kit!  I’m not kidding!

I pray that they have them sitting and me standing.  Maybe then.. I’ll be the same size. 

So I’m sitting here prepping for the show, wearing Crest White strips on my teeth.  NO LIE!

Have you seen the animated movie Ice Age?  I sound like Sid the Sloth!!!  Or should I say, I thound like Thid The Thloth!

Andrew Setters was just talking to me and he looked and me like, “What’s wrong with you?! 

I figure if I can’t be taller.. I might as well have white teeth.  LOL!

I’m wondering if most of YOU CARE.. as much as WE CARE!  LOL!   Thoughts??

Right now.. is the calm before the storm.  The polls just closed.  So we have our entire staff.. monitoring races.. and then updating our graphics, producing staff, anchors and reporters as fast as possible.

At 10pm… it’s going to be chaos in here.  The hardest part, is gathering the latest numbers, winners and losers by 11pm.  

WISH ME LUCK!  I’m hoping this election goes smoothly.  You’ll know if it doesn’t   LOVE LIVE TELEVISION!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN

I’m happy to report my little Dinosaur, came through for me!  It wasn’t easy and it took a lot of begging, pleading and bribing.. but my 2-year old finally put on the costume!

I didn’t think it was going to happen.  Cameron fought us right up until it was time to leave.  But you know how it goes, one hose into the to adventure and he loved it!  Wear a silly costume+make mom happy=get free candy.  PIECE OF CAKE!

I’ll have to show you the pictures.  And even though I wasn’t in love with my 5-year olds Transformer costume, he was so cute.  There’s nothing better than seeing them flexing their muscles and dancing around in these ridiculous costumes.

Connor was ready to go trick-or-treating the minute he woke up!  Two hours before it was time to go, he was begging me to paint his face and put on his costume.

SO CUTE!

I  think I may officially be kicked off  the Room Mother Committee.

I told you the drama over making the Ghost cookies for my sons class.  Well, today I had to bring the cookies to the Halloween Party and let the kids decorate them.

I thought I had it all figured out, icing, chocolate chips, sprinkles… all kinds of fun things to let the kids decorate the cookies.

What I DIDN’T KNOW, was apparently SPRINKLES are a NO NO. WHO KNEW?!  

As soon as the teachers and other mothers saw what I brought, there was almost a collective gasp.  One of them said, “Oh know.  This is going to be messy!” another said, “It’s like cupcakes!”  FYI… Cupcakes are banned from the school… not even for Birthdays!

Well, unfortunately they were right!  Instead of sprinkling on the Sprinkles, the kids added layers and layers of chocolate and rainbow-colored sprinkles.  It was disgusting!  You couldn’t pay me to eat on of them! 

The only thing worse… was the floor!  I think they may need new carpeting.

So, I may have failed at my first Room Mom Mission… But the kids… LOVED THEM!  And that’s really all that mattered.  

By the way..

I’m a little bummed about this years Halloween outfits.  Connor wants to be a Transformer (boring!)  And Cameron is refusing to put on his costume.   I’m hoping I can bribe him with candy (hey.. you gotta do what you gotta do) So, I’ll give you a full report on Monday.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN !

Okay, most of you have heard me say, I’M NOT THE BEST COOK.

I’M NOT!  I admit it!

 It’s not that I can’t do it, it’s just that I don’t really like to and for the most part I don’t.

But I signed up to be a Room Mom for my sons Kindergarten class and my job for the Halloween Party tomorrow is bringing in a creative treat, that the kids can help decorate.

Cool.  No big deal.  I thought, I’ll make some Sugar cookie cut-outs, take them to school and let the kids decorate them.

How hard can cut-out GHOSTS, CATS and BATS be?!  Right?  WRONG!

Here I am at 11am with flower all over my kitchen, ghosts without arms, cats without heads, cracked bats and two little boys who are eating the dough instead of helping.

I was in a panic!  I had 30-cookies to make before I left for work and unless I wanted to freak out the 5-year olds tomorrow…with headless Halloween characters… I had to pull it together.

I finally did it!  I ditched the cats and bats and stuck with ghosts.

They’re not the best LOOKING ghosts but at least they have all of their limbs!

Wish me luck in the morning.  I’m in charge of helping 26 five-year olds decorate  Casper. If I can refrain from Micro-managing the Kindergardeners, I should survive. 

Okay, I planned on writing about the great weekend I had with my boys and at the Bengals game (WOW!  What a great game!  That’s the team we’ve been waiting for!)  but when I saw this… I had to share it with you.  Tonight one of the guys on our production crew says, “Hey, did you see the guy talking about your hair and make-up, on Youtube?!”    WHAT!?  ON YOUTUBE? 

I know I can have a bad hair day every now and then and I do my own make-up, (sometimes while sitting at a stop light) BUT IS IT BAD ENOUGH TO BLAST ME ON YOUTUBE?!I should warn you, there is a lot of profanity.  So, if you’re easily offended or at work you may not want to check it out.  

The other thought I will leave you with is this…Should this guy really be giving me hair and makeup advice, when he goes on Youtube without a shirt??  HMMMMM?

I thought my job was tough… Not anymore!

Tonight I  was at an award’s banquet in Covington at the Metropolitan Club.  We were honoring the President of NKU and his wife.    They’re great people who do a lot for NKU and for our community and countless organizations.

But I was in charge of hosting the Auction to raise money.  OH MY!  Wow!  I thought breaking news was crazy.  There were only six items.  But these weren’t 20-dollar auction items.  The cheapest was 400 bucks, others were auctioned off  for thousands! 

So here I am, starting the bidding for some items at 4-grand.  I swear, I could hear crickets in the room.  It was so uncomfortable at first.    I mean who many people can shell out FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS in an evening.   Thank goodness there were some very generous people who saved me.  But I’m telling you, I thought I was going to miss the news!

IT’S OFFICIAL!

I’m going to have to either try for a girl or adopt one.  Tonight, I went to visit my grandma at the hospital.    She had to have a procedure at Good Sam.  So, I rush over during my dinner break to see her.  Luckily, it wasn’t anything serious.  They weren’t even going to keep her over night but I wanted to at least see her while she was in recovery.

So, I get there and my three aunts are there.  We’re making small talk with my grandma for a while and then it dawns on me, WHERE ARE THE MEN?  My grandma has two sons too.  My dad is one of them!  WHERE WERE THEY?!

So, it’s official.  I must have a little girl at some point to take care of me when I’m old.  My boys treat me like a queen for now.  But I know the truth.  I know they’ll ditch me by the time they get to High School.  UGH!

Shoot, Connor (my 5-year old) is already talking about having a play date with the little girl he likes in his Kindergarten class!  He’s (and I quote) “In love.” 

I know a lot of daughters can be a handful and difficult for their moms in Junior High and High School but at least they come back to you. 

IT HAPPENED AGAIN!

I’m not sure if I’m losing my mind, subconsciously trying to boost ratings (lol!) or just ready for the weekend..   But once again, I’m running errands with the boys in the morning and I realize I brought a suit, but I don’t have a shirt to go under it!

I know I grabbed one (this time!) but it must have fallen off the hanger at some point!

So here I am for a second day in a row scrambling to find a SHIRT!

Thank goodness  tonight I was wearing a black suit… so, an old shirt I just happened to have in my locker worked fine.  I think?!  You’ll have to let me know what you think!  Thank god for necklaces!  They can dress up anything! 

I’M SO READY FOR THE WEEKEND!  HOPE YOU HAVE A GOOD ONE TOO.
